Rottweilers can make very good Agility dogs.
Raven (Ryckamie Break the Rules) is owned by Eilidh McKenzie and this is his story.
Raven began by qualifiying for Crufts in the breed ring as a puppy.
He has successfully passed his Bronze, Silver and Gold Good Citizen Tests.
Once his training started at 16 months, we found Raven's forte was Agility.
He began competing at 23 months and to date has won approximately 50 Rosettes.
Agility classes can have between 150 - 300 dogs in each class and rosettes are given to 10% of each class. Therefore to win any rosettes is quite an achievement.
Raven got a 2nd in the Agility Competition at Crufts 2006
He was run by Claire Bell-Jack in the Young Kennel Club ring
This year alone (2004) he's won a 4th, an 8th and an 11th in Novice Jumping, a 19th & a 22nd in Intermediate Agility, a 6th, a 12th, a 13th & a 15th in Novice Agility, and a 10th in ABC (Anything But a Collie) agility.
Raven recently went down to Licester to demonstrate and encourage other large and giant breed handlers that large breeds can be successful at agility.
Raven travels as far south as Manchester campaigning the breed and showing that they are a versatile and majestic dog they are.
